Check out this almost identical camera "Le Paris", at :
http://collectiblend.com/Cameras/Clemente/Le-Paris.html
This cardboard camera is in sound condition, though a little worn at the edges. Probably had a spring on the shutter originally.
Lens is present, but no films.
Some corrosion on metal parts.
Circa 1910.
The gold lettering on one side reads :
Le Parisien
Perfectionné
Déposé
I can't make out what the design on the shutter represents. Maybe some foliage.
See the Collectiblend online price guide for Clemente "Le Paris" for comparison.
The sliding box, or box-in-a-box design is not for focusing as was used on Daguerreotype and wet-plate collodion cameras,
but simply to close the camera and hold the film in place.
As I said before, I don't have any flm for this camera.
Image Format : 5x4cm approx.
Camera Dimensions : 5.25 x 4.25 x 7.25 cm approx.
Shipping is from France, but the auction is listed in £ sterling.
Non-EU buyers need to provide a telephone number for shipping label.
