The Leica IIIb was an upgrade from the IIIa.
The rangefinder and viewfinder windows were moved into one eyepiece, and the dioptric lever was moved to a new position under the rewind knob.
Total production from 1937 to 1946 was about 33000 examples. Compare this with about 91000 IIIa cameras and about 77000 Leica III cameras
