Alabaster Optical Souvenir
Here we have an attractive Optical Toy Souvenir from Scarboro (Scarborough) in England.
These were popular with tourists in the 1850's and 1860's and supposedly gave a 3D effect,
illuminated by natural light passing through the white alabaster.
This one stands 11.5 cm tall
Shipping to USA is $25 (below real cost)
Generally good condition. Though the original plaster joint is mostly intact,
the two parts can be taken apart and the interior can be cleaned if the buyer wishes.
Some minor pieces of alabaster are missing - see images.
